Since the mid-1990s Maite Cajaraville has combined her facets as an artist and a creative developer of new media. With a post-graduate degree in the theory and practice of contemporary art from Madrid's Universidad Complutense and a diploma in computer science (Madrid, 1991-93), she completed her multidisciplinary training at the Advance Visual Arts School in Frankfurt, Germany (1993-96).
Outstanding among her exhibitions were "La nadadora" ["The Swimmer"] in the MEIAC en 2006; "The (UN)Real Site, at the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, near Madrid, "BerlinFest" in Berlin; the Kunstverein in Frankfurt; "ISIS- Symmetry", in Washington D.C.; "ARSLAB" in Turin; "New Europe" at the Venice Biennale, La Zitella; "Flux of Influences" at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin; "UPDATE", the international festival of multimedia arts in Copenhagen; "Hanover 2000", curated by José Lebrero and Ricardo Echevarría in Hanover, Germany; "Mad'01" in Madrid; "Mediarama" in Seville; "Todo fluye: Infografía española" ["Everything Flows: Spanish infography"] at the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid.
