:// work in NETescopio:

Saharawhy.net is part of the "Other Letters to Morocco" project, in which Rogelio López Cuenca and Elo Vega submerge themselves in the thorny question of the old Spanish Sahara, a subject they had dealt with previously in their video "Tale of Two Cities", produced for the "Atopía" exhibition (CCCB, Barcelona, 2009). The imperial past, the de-colonization process, guilt, and immersion in modernity, the deliberate forgetfulness which may benefit oneself but in terms of social sacrifice leaves victims one would rather not have to face (in order to continue to see the mirage), are the issues addressed by this work in the format of a website and which has been enriched with the advertising material, billboards and posters, that was displayed in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in the Spanish Canary Islands.
