Ryan Barone was born in Gloversville, New York, in 1985. He gained a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Santa Rosa College, and a Master of Fine Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He lives and works in Hattiesburg, near Brooklyn, Mississippi.
